Instead, they get access to the Armored Elephant line. The entire technology tree was inherited from the Indians, except for the Battering Ram line, Parthian Tactics, Heavy Demolition Ship, Dry Dock, and Heated Shot.Their defenses are weak, but their economy is good with cheaper Villagers, faster gold income due to Grand Trunk Road, and their unique building, the Caravanserai, which helps with Trade Carts further. Their navy is not good, since the Fast Fire Ship, Heavy Demolition Ship, Dry Dock and Shipwright are missing. The siege weapons are good, missing Heavy Scorpion and rare Siege Onager upgrades, but having extra armor on their Bombard Cannons and Siege Elephants. The Ghulam is a great infantry unit, fulfilling roles very similar to the Eagle Warrior, as a mobile, high pierce armor infantry unit with the added advantage that it can thrust its attacks through multiple targets. Their Barracks units are lackluster, lacking Plate Mail Armor, Gambesons, and Halberdiers. They have excellent Hand Cannoneers getting all possible upgrades and getting another +2 range from Shatagni, combined with additional armor, making the Hand Cannoneer one of the most prominent unit in Hindustanis armies. Their Archers and Cavalry Archers are usable and their Skirmishers are fully upgraded. They do not have any other cavalry, especially Knights, at their disposal. They also have access to the Hussar which also shares the attack bonus against standard buildings. As such, they have excellent Camel Riders with a unique upgrade, faster attack rate, an additional attack bonus against standard buildings, and all upgrades. The Hindustanis are classified as a Camel Rider and gunpowder civilization. Team bonus Camel units and light cavalry units have +2 attack against standard buildings. Villagers are 5%/10%/15%/20% cheaper in the Dark/Feudal/Castle/Imperial Age.Shatagni: Gives Hand Cannoneers +2 range.Grand Trunk Road: Increases the speed of all gold income by +10%.Lastly, they feature a lot of advantages in terms of gunpowder units, making ships like the Cannon Galleon cheaper and more deadly if upgraded correctly.Īge of Empires 2: Definitive Edition is currently available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties ReviewĢ3 October 2007 Unique building Caravanserai: Building which heals and speeds up nearby allied Trade Carts. The Italians also have a 15% reduction in aging up, which allows them to speed through the ages quickly and become a devastating, upgraded, and technological force quickly. This means they can focus on gathering wood on land for more ships. Fishing ships are also cheaper, making it ridiculously easy to get that valuable food resource up and running early in the game. They have almost everything available to them at the docks, and a massive boost at the docks since all of their technologies are 33% cheaper than they are for other civilizations. Italians might be even better than the Vikings though, and this comes from several advantages. ![]()
